Catch up and a freebie!

Back at last!  Apologies for my lack of contact - it's been busy, busy, busy!
A week of parents interviews and a Harvest Service to practise for have kept me away from the computer.  I found Parent Interviews this year quite hard going I have to admit (for all sorts of reasons, best not gone into!).
The Harvest Service was beautiful and the little ones did us proud!  The assembly hall was packed to the rafters with parents!  I still get nervous at these events - I always get to do the music and still panic in case it all goes wrong!  However, everything went smoothly and we had a party afterwards, consuming the goodies that we baked that morning.  As usual I didn't take pics, as we were a bit pressed for time.....
The school is currently closed for half term break (just 3 days), but it gives me a chance to catch up!  I have been planning a giveaway and have had loads of donations, so will probably do several rafflecopters - can't wait to get it set up and will be in contact with all you generous blogging buddies shortly!
I wanted to update with some of the craft work the children have been doing during October.  I finally remembered to take some pics, although I left the template drawings in school!  I wanted to share these with you, so will update this post when I get back.
We finished two projects - one was the craft work to accompany our novel - 'The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark'.  The Bulletin Board is now complete, but missing our sequencing activity on 'The Night Hunter', as I ran out of room!
The children did three types of owl:  tissue paper; finger-painting and feathers; paper plates with split pin wings - found on Pinterest.
The second Bulletin Board was our 'Autumn Colours'.  The children collected leaves, completed leaf rubbings, wrote a harvest acrostic poem and made little movable hedgehogs.  In the pics they are a bit hidden, as I was trying to be creative with leaves - lol!
I hope you enjoy the pics!  Apologies for poor quality - the curtains were closed!

Just realising how bad I am at taking photos - hope you got the idea though!

Added a freebie to my shop - click on the pic if you can use:

Lastly, but most importantly, we have been seeing some terrible pics of the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy.  My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected....keep safe.
