Sorry!

I don't know if these will work in blogger, but they are for YOU, FRIENDS!  Just to say I'm sorry for being missing in action for such a long time!
The above images have been made by a couple of really cool apps - they do all the thinking and work for you! The first gif is made by an app called Legend - this would be great for transitions in videos.  The second was made using an app called Adobe Spark - it basically makes your memes animated and they can be saved as videos.  Both free to my knowledge!  A third app you might want to have a look at is Word Swag - love it for making memes too - it even has the quotes ready made!
So, that's my little gift for you today!
So, where to begin!  I haven't blogged for a while for many reasons and I have lots of exciting and random news to share with you!
First up - some obvious changes!  Yes, I have a brand new blog!!  I hope you click around it some and check out everything I have added so far.  I do have to make a couple of small adjustments yet, but basically it is finished.  I was reluctant to post anything whilst it was being worked on.  So, I have to say a huge thanks to Alexis Sanchez from Laugh, Eat, Learn.  She was so patient with all my indecision and changes, replied promptly to all my emails and was polite and friendly throughout - although I would imagine she would have liked to strangle me a few times - lol!
This is the lovely Alexis:
...and you can find her here:
Once I got all my bits and bobs sorted, it was time for me to make some updates in other areas as well.  If you read my blog and follow me, you will know that I sell my resources on a number of platforms.  I spent weeks solely dedicated to updating everything, from product covers and images to product descriptions - nothing escaped the make-over!  Not the most interesting task in the world, but neccessary.  I almost launched my PC out the window a few times!  It was running incredibly slowly and Windows kept bugging me about upgrading to Windows 10.  I really didn't want to do this, as I had tried twice before and kept having issues.  Anyhow, I thought third time's a charm - go for it.  I decided to let it happen while I slept - huge mistake and not to be recommended!!  I woke up the next morning locked out of my computer.  I couldn't do a system restore, so had to reset to factory settings - and of course lost everything in the process!  Over a number of weeks, I was able to mostly get all my program software etc etc back, but it wasn't without its issues.  The lesson to take from this - always back up your PC!
I also found it difficult to blog since Jay's passing in December - I really lost all motivation.  It has been 6 months since he left us and we miss him every day.  However, he will soon be looking over his little baby brother who is due to join this world in September, to be named Harry - it has very much given us all something wonderful to look forward to!
It appeared that things were settling down, when my poor mother was carted off in an ambulance - heart and breathing problems.  She had a bit of a prolonged stay, then came to us for a little while until she was back on her feet and able to cope.  During this time, I was also back and forth to the hospital with my own issues - lots of tests etc.  Problem found and hopefully sorted over the coming months!
So did I have time to create any new products?  Well yes, I did!  I concentrated on my design store for a prolonged period, as it was a bit neglected and uploaded a ton of new graphics and fonts - happy days!  I was also able to convert and upload some more UK resources, so feel like I am finally making some headway there!
What else is new?  Last year, I decided we needed to be a one car family - better for the environment and for my health - I would walk more.....well the intentions were good, but I couldn't keep to them - I am not a disciplined person!  We hardly made it to a year, when I gave in and bought myself this little baby: (be warned, I care not a jot what others think about me cruising in the summer evening sunshine at my age!)  My mother very kindly told me that if I really wanted to drive a car like this, I should lose some weight - bless her cotton socks - haha!

And now to the biggest news of all - I have my retirement date settled for August 31st!  I will no longer be teaching.  I could say a whole lot more here, but I don't think it would benefit anyone at this stage.  As a thank you to my husband for all his support throughout my illness, we have decided to splurge on a once in a lifetime trip to South Africa.  It has been my husband's dream for such a long time to go on safari and that's exactly what we will be doing come June 2017.  We also hope to visit and stay with the lovely Lindy du Plessis!

My last bit of news is that I am taking the month of July off from creating resources to finish off my website.  I started it last summer - a year has gone by and I have still not been able to launch it!  However, come July 31st, it will be launched and live - I can't tell you how excited I am about this!  If you have subscribed to my newsletter, you will be able to read all about my plans and perhaps grab some bargains! *inserts winky eye*

I also have other promotional plans this month, so expect a newsletter soon - I know it has fallen by the wayside too, but it needs a little makeover!

And my last promise - I will finish my Teacherpreneur Tips series soon - yes, I know, I know - another thing that fell by the wayside - I refer you to the top 2 images again!

So good to be back and chatting with you!  Happy 4th of July to all my american friends!

  10. Hi Wendy, Your new blog looks great! I didn't see an email link, so I hope I can reach you this way. I tried to join your 1st grade linky party, but each time, something went wrong. If you can delete my attempts, I'll try again. You can't miss them, the words below the picture are in black with no link. "1st Grade Grapevine".
    Thanks,
    Susan
